An Invitation to Canvass

There are a number of ways that you can work with the Richland County Democrats (rcdems) to bring about positive change in this crucial election year. Check out options here, or stop by our office at 900 N Main Street in Richland Center to chat with our volunteer staff.

One direct and effective way you can act is to join us in visiting Richland County households to talk about our pressing political issues and opportunities – the activity of canvassing.

Our spring canvassing will support Judge Chris Taylor, the progressive candidate for the open seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, https://www.chrisforjustice.com/ . This court determines crucial issues in our state that range from fair maps for Congressional districts, to support for education and medical care, to how Wisconsin responds to executive orders from the Trump administration. This judicial election will begin with early voting on March 24 and conclude on April 7.

Our spring canvass will also build our base of support for this November’s elections for southwest Wisconsin’s representative in the U.S. Congress, the Governor of Wisconsin, and other critical district and state-wide offices.
Organized canvassing will be conducted from the rcdems office at 900 N Main Street on these dates and times:

Saturday, March 14, 2026 9-12 noon
Saturday, March 14, 2026 1- 4 pm
Sunday March 15, 2026 12 noon to 4 pm

Saturday, March 21, 2026 9-12 noon
Saturday, March 21, 2026 1- 4 pm
Sunday March 22, 2026 12 noon to 4 pm

Saturday, March 28, 2026 9-12 noon - also the day of the "No Kings" rally
Saturday, March 28, 2026 1- 4 pm - also the day of the "No Kings" rally
Sunday March 29, 2026 12 noon to 4 pm

Saturday, April 4, 2026 - 9-12 noon
Saturday, April 4, 2026 - 1- 4 pm

We will also be supporting any ad hoc weekday canvassing for those who have time free during those days. Just let us know.

To canvass, you can use paper or the Minivan app - we will train you on the Minivan app if you would like to use it. Usually we go out in pairs - one driving and the other knocking doors. We will have the turfs (lists and maps of addresses to visit) ready for you when you arrive.

This spring, in coordination with the entire Democratic Party of Wisconsin (WisDems), we are targeting strong and leaning Democrats in the county with the goal of getting this important group of folks out to vote and volunteer. You can ask any questions about canvassing or sign up by emailing or calling either of the rcdems’ canvassing coordinators with the times you will be able to help.

You can easily refine your day(s) later when you know your schedule better.  Also, the office at 900 North Main Street in Richland Center will be open for extended hours starting in early March.  There will be a signup sheet for canvassing in the office, as an alternative to contacting either of the canvass coordinators.

Thank you for considering canvassing.
